Retail section of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, is now under investigation following an alleged N14 billion fraud committed by top management of the Corporation.
Currently the NNPC is faced with a challenge of the board’s decision on a panel recommendation to relieve the Managing Director of the NNPC Retail, Esther Nnamdi Ogbue; the General Manager (Operations) of NNPC Retail,
Mamza Gwadabe and two others of their duties. Ogbue, and three others were indicted by a panel set up investigate the theft of over 100 million litres of petrol worth over N14 billion, in a scandal involving some of the top management of the Corporation.
According to Nigerian Pilot when contacted on the matter the Group General Manager Group Public Affairs, NNPC Ndu Ughamadu who confirmed the story said that NNPC has set a panel to investigate the N14 billion missing petrol from the NNPC’s depot of the Retail sector involving some top management staff of the Corporation.
According to him,“administrative body was set up to look into the issue, and until they submit the report before the next line of action will be determined” The board is to decide whether they should be held accountable in the N14
billion missing petrol from the NNPC’s depot.
